Koroua Kuia Grants
Conditions of Application:
- All applicants must complete this application form and be 60 years of age or older at the time of application.
- If the applicant is a member of a Whanau Trust, then the application must also be signed by a trustee of the Whanau Trust.
- An applicant may only receive one koroua kuia grant from the Trust in any twelve month period.
- Owners in more than one block can only apply once.
- The grant maount is to be paid is net of any applicable tax.
- Grant payments will be made in the name of an owner OR in the name of the partner of a deceased owner OR if the applicant is a member of a Whanau Trust, the applicant’s grant payment will be made to the Whanau Trust.
- Payments will be made by direct credit only. The applicant or Whanau Trust must attach a bank verified copy of their bank accountdetails or a pre-printed bank account deposit slip.
- The applicant agrees that the deatails provided on the application form can be used by the Trust to updates its record of Owners Details. Your personal information is stored in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
- Payment will be made by direct credit New Zealand bank accounts only. Applicants residing overseas may attach a written request to deposit their grant into a New Zealand bank account that does not belong to a Trust owners.
NOTE: Any information or documentation not provided may result in a delay or declining of the application.
Education Grant Applications for Whare Waananga, University or Tertiary Institute
Conditions of Application:
- he applicant must show that they are an owner, a descendant of an owner, or a beneficiary
of a Whanau Trust that holds shares in the Te Hanga South Trust by producing a verified
copy of their whakapapa signed by an owner or kaumatua.
2. Must be enrolled and attending, a Whare Wānanga, University, Institute of Technology or
recognised Tertiary Institute where the course is a NZQA accredited or Mana Tohu
Matauranga o Aotearoa
3. Applicants must produce verification of the course
4. Applicants must provide a copy of the tuition fee invoice (unless qualifying for FEES FREE)
and, where applicable, two quotes of specialist technology equipment necessary for study
course,
A. Applicants are to provide a written report to the Te Hanga South Trust at the end of the
12 months or, where the course is part-time, at the completion of the course
B. Applicants must agree that reports may be included on the Te Hanga South Trust
website
C. Applicants may be required to present a report at a Meeting of Owners if requested
D. Only one application per annum will be accepted
E. Applications will open on the 1st of each month & close on the last day of each month
F. Successful applicants should receive their grant electronically in the month following if
not beforehand
G. All grants will be at the discretion of the Trustees
H. Grants are available annually unless decided otherwise by the Trustees
I. Incomplete applications will not be considered
J. Where an applicant is a beneficiary/descendant of a Whanau Trust then this application
form must be signed off by an appropriate person of that Whanau Trust

Grant Policy
The Trust shall support Koroua Kuia by way of grants.
It is felt that Koroua Kuia should be supported by the Trust for their long standing contributions to the whenua and the Trust.
